Accommodation

Living at Roots

Accommodation at Roots is simple, comfortable, and close to the natural world. These are not conventional retreat centres or polished resorts. They are places shaped by their surroundings, where the boundaries between indoors and outdoors soften, and daily life moves at a different pace. Accommodation may vary between locations, but the intention remains the same: somewhere comfortable to rest, somewhere to feel at ease, and somewhere that keeps you connected to the place around you.

A Different Kind of Comfort

Comfort at Roots is less about luxury and more about what you actually need.

A good place to sleep.
Clean surroundings.
A warm shower.
Space for your belongings.

Somewhere to retreat when you want time to yourself.

Rooms and sleeping spaces may be shared, depending on the location and group. We will always make the arrangements clear before you travel, so you know what to expect.

Shared Spaces

Much of life at Roots happens beyond where you sleep. There are places to sit together, practise, read, talk, or simply watch the day unfold. Some moments naturally become social. Others become quiet. There is no expectation to always be around the group. There is room for both connection and solitude.

Living with Nature

Both Roots locations bring you closer to the natural environment. That means fresh air, changing weather, unfamiliar sounds, and the occasional presence of insects or wildlife. Paths may be uneven. Rain may arrive. Nights may sound different from home. We don’t try to separate the experience from these things. They are part of being there.

Before & After the Retreat

Depending on the retreat and travel arrangements, your journey may also include accommodation close to the airport before or after your time at Roots. This creates space to arrive, gather, and transition without rushing between international travel and the retreat itself. Full arrangements will be shared before you travel.

The Simple Things

Often, it is the ordinary moments people remember. Waking to the sounds outside. Sitting somewhere quietly before the day begins. Returning to your room after a long day. A conversation that happens without being planned. At Roots, care is often found in these simple things—in the places we rest, the food we share, and the space between what was planned. Over time, Roots may feel less like somewhere you stayed and more like somewhere you briefly belonged.
